Outdoor Living | Harrison, NY
Owner Testimonial: “We could not be more pleased to have Sean designing and managing our pool project. He is incredibly knowledgeable, diligent, but most importantly, professional. From the moment we met him it was obvious that he loves to design pools and cares about ensuring that the finished project fits the surrounding environment seamlessly. Sean, aside from being technically gifted, is a great listener who designs around how a customer ultimately intends to use the space. He is easy to get along with and takes immense pride in his work. We could not be happier with our project design and would highly recommend him, without reservation, to anyone looking to embark on a pool project, no matter how complicated.” - Jose & Nicole F.

Above: A rocky, moss-covered hillside overlooking the clients' residence presented an idyllic setting for an outdoor living space including a 15' x 35' luxury pool with integral spa. Although raised above grade, a fountain wall and catch pool was chosen, rather than an infinity edge, as a stand-alone feature to create a Fire and Water theme in a space, or room, below.

Above: Breathtaking process images illustrating various project phases from a common perspective. As is typical in Harrison, NY, mechanical chipping was required in order to remove ledge rock conflicting with the work area. It is advisable, in areas such as these, to conduct preliminary tests to ascertain the presence of ledge rock and its potential impact on the project.

Above: While critical alignments express the architectural characteristics of the clients' home into the landscape, careful layout of design features in both elevation and plan, as well as material choices for stonework and plantings, connect the space to its surrounding environment. Well designed landscapes blur the line between built and natural features.

Above: Cascading textures, from a custom water fountain to weeping cutleaf Japanese Maples, ripple across the landscape in one of LDC's signature design motifs. Moreover, the red foliage of the weeping Maples echoes the color and warmth of the fire pit, thereby adding more dimension to a design that embraces symmetry, repetition, and balance.

Above: Pool and landscape lighting, when thoughtfully designed, is stunning. The effect will evolve through time as the newly installed plantings grow into their spaces, with uplighting becoming more subdued. Notice how the shimmering glow of the underwater lights in the fountain and catch pool area are mirrored by the flames of the fire pit.
